About Arenal

Vibrant tourist destination

Just 16kms outside of the capital, Palma, El Arenal boasts a 4.6km long beach, with a lovely promenade lined by bars, restaurants and shops. All tastes are catered for in the restaurants from the local cuisine to the more familiar pizzas and burgers. The beaches are great for water sports, swimming, kayaking, water skiing, snorkelling, etc. There are some wonderful local places you can explore by bike, walking or on horseback. Megapark is the local nightlife. Market day in the centre of the town, takes place on Thursdays from 09:00 to 14:00, April to October. You can find everything from leather handbags to the locally picked fruit and veg. Markets in the Plaza Mayor also take place on Tuesday and Wednesdays.
