Mallorca is the largest of the Balearic Islands, and has been a popular holiday destination since the 1960´s. One of the reasons for holidaying in Mallorca is the beautiful coastline. The mountains offer peace and tranquillity and endless opportunities for walking and cycling. The west of the island has cliffs and sapphire seas, and the north has pine fringed bays and turquoise waters. The east coast has caves galore. Palma, the capital city, is situated in the middle of a huge bay on the south of the island. You can spend at least one whole day here sight-seeing, the hop on Palma bus is a good option. Don´t miss La Seu, Cathedral de Santa Maria which sits proudly in the centre of the bay.
