About Soller

Set in lush orange groves between the mountains and the sea

There are a couple of ways to reach the old Mallorcan town of Sóller. You can drive through the stunning Tamuntana mountains, if approaching from the north, or join the vintage, 1912, Pullman train at the Plaza España in Palma, and wind your way through some wonderful scenic countryside. Either way, the journey is an experience topped off by visiting a very typical Mallorcan town. The Plaza Constitució has an abundance of cafes, where you can enjoy a glass of fresh orange juice and ensaimada or coffee. The area comes alive on Saturday morning when the local market takes place. A visit to Can Prunera art gallery, not only allows you the chance to see a permanent collection of works by national and international artists such as, Picasso, Miró and Rusiñol, but the building that houses the collection too, an architectural gem built between 1909 and 1911. Sóller has been inhabited by humans since Talayotice times (5200BC), and remains from this era include bronze statues, two of which can be found in the Museu de Mallorca in Palma. During the 19th century, Sóller became a major exporter of olives and citrus fruits. Sóller Botanical Gardens, can be found on the MA11 just outside Sóller. It´s main purpose is to preserve rare and endangered species of the Balearics. Well worth a visit! From Sóller, you can ride the vintage tram down to the Port, another scenic journey, ending at the horseshoe shaped bay. We also deliver and collect from Palma Airport
